I’ve finally established a workflow for transferring 2d patterns to 3d printable vessels with a predictable wall thickness. A tutorial will follow shortly. I don’t think many people use Adobe Illustrator for 3d printing, but you’d be amazed at how useful it is. It goes something like Illustrator to Maya to ZBrush to Netfabb. The solid bowl killed the better part of a day. Panel Loops in ZBrush for some reason adjusts all the groups, not just the visible one. That mad using displacements was necessary. I kept getting a similar effect until I realized gray was the unaffected value. After that it was smooth sailing.
